No to Wiper Governor, Senator suit vote, Kalonzo told

The only union between governors and senators in Ukambani has been cited as the number one cause of the under development that has dogged the region in the past three years. According to residents of the three counties of Makueni, Machakos and Kitui, electing a governor and a senator from the same party has turned out to be a curse rather than a blessing because the senators cease being watchmen of the people’s devolution funds but instead either keep quiet lest they be seen as fighting their own party or they out rightly join in the looting of public funds.

It is against this background that Kambas are now sending an early warning to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka that he should desist from making it a life and death matter that Kambas vote for Wiper’s governor and senator because such an arrangement has seen Kambas get a raw deal as far as benefitting from the devolution goes.

The scenario, they say, has put senators in an awkward situation because they cannot oversight governors aggressively owing to the fact that they would be seen as undermining wiper party.

It is against this background that Kambas are to mix and match candidates next year’s elections by electing a wiper governor and none wiper senator or a wiper senator and a now wiper governor.

They give the example of Kitui county where Wiper senators Enock Wambua who in the last parliamentary term was against them governor Charity Ngilu of Narc so much so that there would not pass three months before Ngilu dragged to the senate to answer questions regarding to accusation of irregularities brought forward by Wambua.

Today, now that the governor is Wiper, not a single day has Wambua taken any complaints to the senate against Julius Malombe even through the Malombe regime as seen as more corrupt and nepolistic than the Ngilu regime. It goes without saying that had the governor not been a Wiper, Wambua would be the busiest senator in Kenya as Kitui has literally been taken to the dogs by Malombe with sand harvesting and charcoal burning that had been banned by Ngilu now becoming the chief income earner for Malombes family with his sons running a cartel of sand mafia that ralies in billions a month from the degradation of Kitui.

Because of party however, Wambua is mum as Kitui is torn apart environmentally as a few individuals make billions from sand harvesting. The people of Kitui now wonder whether Wambua has become toothless or he is maintaining table manners of not talking when you have food in youth mouth. The latter, every believes, is more like it.

In Makuenie, the situation is no different only that it is getting out of hand with senator Daniel Maanzo now becoming a dog of Governor Mutula Kilonzo and going at everyone and anyone who as little as points to Mutula’s shortcomings. By all definitions and purposes, Maanzo has now become Mutula’s chief campaigner for Mutula’s second term. Maanzo is eyeing ther governor seat 2032 and so he is keen to see Mutula retain his seat and finish his left five year term as opposed to a new comer who would likely go for two terms making it 10 years which Maanzo feels will be too long and by that time fresh development minded leaders will have cropped up in Makueni and made empty leadership like his a thing of the past.

In the last four years of a wiper governor and a wiper senator in Makueni, development has grounded to a halt with Makueni now known for corrupt county government as hospitals become death zones and wards become gullies and gorgeos.

This is a far cry from when Makueni had a Muungano party governor Kivutha Kibwana and a wiper senator Mutula. Then, Kibwaha had no breathing space as Mutula and Kalonzo songed up to keep him on toeas. As a result, Makueni under a governor and senator from different parties became a senator from different parties became a model county from where governors from a cross Keny trooped to go bench mark on matters health and agriculture in the Kalamba Fruit processing plant that Kibwana started as they also learned about Kibwana’s healthcare after parying Sh500 a year. Those above 65 years needed not pay and were entited to free treatment. All those have been killed by Mutula and get the senator sees no evil, hears no evil and speaks no evil.

It was the same in Machakos when the governor Alfred Mutual of Chap Chap had a CCU senator and then Wiper senator to check him. Today in Machakos, the Wiper senator Alice Kavindu stands by as Governor Waviya Ndeti of Wiper takes the county down the drain with incompetence Wavinya’s governance and runaway corruption that has seen Wavinya and her son Charles Oduwole become billionaires overnight. The son has been heard brag that theyw ill pay Kalonzo a cool Sh500m for the ticket and that he has alred pocked a downpayment. According to Oduwole, that is only Kalonzo recently openly declared that Wavinya has no rival in the contest for Machakos governor seat.

Because of the fear of imposing unpopular leaders like Wavinya on the people, there is now a new slogan sweeping across Ukamban of “Hakuna kubebwa” to mean that Kalonzo should not carry candidates on his back and pretend that they are the ones who are campaigning yet he is the one who is foisting them on the people.

Those for mixing or broken suit as it is known say that this is the only way to make a governor work because he will not only be pushed by the senator, but will also likely not be having total control of the county assembly and so he or she will be impeached if they are a deadwood as opposed to when MCAs are called by the party leader and ordered to spare the un-performing governor.

To elect a wiper governor, Wiper senator, wiper woman rep and wiper MCAs and Wiper MPs Kambas say, this is tantamount to political incest and will only result to inbreeding that will at the end bring forth deformed leadership as the case if today.

Kalonzo they said, should be content with such that al Kamba votes will got o is presidential basket and as such he has no business campaigning for other candidates who in any case will only affect his popularity because they are unpopular themselves.
